How it works
From your voice to four balancing tracks
About fifteen seconds of your time, then press play. Here is what happens in between.
How Selftone balances your sound
-
Speak for 10 seconds
Read a short, positive sentence out loud, or say whatever you like.
-
See your 12-note map
Selftone measures each of the twelve notes in your voice and picks out your three strongest notes and your quietest one.
Strongest: G, E, A Quietest: F♯
-
Meet the partner notes
Each of those four notes is paired with its complement: the note six semitones away, directly across the wheel.
Partner: G → C♯, E → A♯, A → D♯, F♯ → C
-
Listen to 4 balancing tracks
One track for each partner note, about three minutes each, designed to balance today’s sound pattern.
Every note has a partner
Music divides each octave into twelve equal steps. Six steps away, on the opposite side of the wheel, sits each note’s complementary partner. Selftone pairs the notes that stand out in your voice with these partners to rebalance your sound.

What happens to your recording
- Selftone first checks the recording: long enough, clear enough, with speech in it. If it is not, you are told why and can record again.
- The analysis measures the strength of each of the twelve notes (C, C♯, D … B) across the octaves your voice covers. It was designed and engineered with AI and gives the same result for the same recording every time.
- Your three strongest notes and your quietest note are each paired with their partner, six semitones away, and your four tracks are made from those partner notes in your chosen sound style.
- Your recording stays in your account. You can download or delete it, and everything else, at any time.
